          Take Home Message Rectal perforations during pelvic surgery are rare but severe complications. Intraoperative detection and repair of a rectal lesion is of importance for lower morbidity. Management of an iatrogenic bowel injury can be performed safely with minimally invasive surgery, with direct closure of the defect.
